The Mad Shutter
Hello,   this is a page of my latest trip to Iceland,

Images and Video's on this page are all from my Canon point and shoot.  I'll put a link off the page for my high quality images taken on my Sony A7RII.   --  Click Here For Hi Res Images  --

All starting off at  Hotel Reykjavik Marina,  I got there a day earlier to help with any jet lag and have a little time to explore the town of Reykjavik.
Below are images from the Hotel.    The first one you'll see my foot next the fire.  I was relaxing there waiting for my room to be ready.

A few from Reykjavik the day before we head out on our trip.  I went to the world famous Hot Dog Stand, yes very good dogs.  It had on and off rain all day but I got out there anyway.  The pictures at the end are from our welcome dinner we had.

First stop was at Seljalandsfoss, the waterfall you can walk behind and with a drop of 63 meters.

      Hali Country Hotel

Images from our hotel dining we stayed at near Vik.   Good food there at the Hotel - and some Trolls showed up to steal the beer

Gas Station Lunch, not bad.    Some colorful fields.

Nice dinner in Vik,   I had the Beef Rib-eye with grilled Asparagus, Fennel and Bearnaise sauce

Jules Verne - "Journey to the Center of the Earth"  Icelandic volcano Snæfellsjökull ,  it's that snow caped mountain behind me in the photos

This was a new very nice hotel.  My Northern Lights images were taken from this stop.  So one of the nicest hotels we stayed at we were out till midnight taking the Night Light pictures.
It was well worth the outing for the lights..  So please check on my Hi Res Images page for the Northern Light images..

We had a stop on Mars ,,, no just a place that was once a glacier

Last night with my group before I start my solo vacation in my Camping Van for 6 days.   Nice restaurant!   Had a nice beef dish and a fancy dessert

Starting my Camping Van Trip all by myself

The Blue Lagoon ,  Very nice and warm.   www.bluelagoon.com/

Little stop at a Vikings Museum

Yes Iceland has Oreo's with White Fudge Chocolate, Milk Chocolate.   Only available in the US during Christmas time..  But over there.. All year long.......    WHY!
399 in ISK is $3.47 US

Last day in Iceland,  Returned my camping van and had around 6 hours before my plane was to leave.   I flew first class so going to the airport was not that bad.  As you see the Icelandic Air first class lounge was great.   Makes waiting very doable
